My research interests are related to the mathematical analysis of evolutionary partial differential equations as well as to the development of numerical algorithms and their numerical implementation. This for both direct and inverse problems in heat transfer, fractional calculus, elasticity, electromagnetism and thermo-elasticity.
The mathematical analysis (existence and uniqueness of a solution) of the problems is mainly based on a variational approach in combination with time-discretization methods including convergence and error analysis. The numerical algorithms are checked for stability and robustness.
