Timothy Van Renterghem (born in Belgium, 1976) received his degree in Bio-engineering in 1999 (option : Environmental Technology) at Ghent University, Faculty of Agricultural and Applied Biological Sciences (nowadays Faculty of Bio-engineering Sciences). In October 2003, he obtained his Phd at the Faculty of Applied Sciences (nowadays Engineering and Architecture) at the Department of Information Technology, Research group Acoustics (nowadays WAVES). In October 2009 he was appointed at this same Department as (part time) Professor (in Environmental Acoustics). In 2014, he was a visiting Professor at the lab of Mechanical Engineering at Sheffield University (UK). Timothy Van Renterghem is Associate Editor of the journal of the European Acoustical Association, namely "Acta Acustica" (for the theme : "Atmospheric sound") and Associate Editor for Elsevier's "Urban Forestry and Urban Greening".
