MACKIE-2015 is an international conference on Mathematics in (bio)Chemical Kinetics and Engineering, to be held in Ghent, Belgium July 2 and 3, 2015

Recent breakthroughs will be discussed concerning the application of mathematical techniques in the modelling of problems originating in (bio)chemical engineering.

Selected papers from the conference will be published by the journal Computers and Chemical Engineering.

Please structure your extended abstract as follows:

• title;
• name, affiliation, address (incl. email if applicable) of all authors; indicate who is the corresponding author;
• introduction, body and conclusions; add references if you wish;
• use text, mathematical and chemical formulas, and figures where appropriate.

Deadlines

• EXTENDED Apr. 22, 2015: Submission deadline for Extended Abstracts.
• EXTENDED Apr. 29, 2015: Notification of acceptance of the extended abstracts, start of Registration.
• May 1, 2015: Deadline to qualify for the Early Bird reduced fee
• Jul. 2-3, 2015: Conference.
• Sep. 21, 2015: Submission of manuscripts for Computers and Chemical Engineering.

The Research Group for model-based analysis and optimisation of (bio)processes (BIOMATH), the Laboratory for Chemical Technology (LCT) and the Research Group for Numerical analysis and Mathematical Modelling (NaM2) of Ghent University are pleased to invite you to participate in the International Conference "Mathematics in (bio)Chemical Kinetics and Engineering" which will be held on Jul. 2-3, 2015 in Ghent, Belgium.

The main goal of this conference is to bring together mathematicians, (bio)chemical engineers and chemists to outline highly topical mathematical approaches to problems in (bio)chemical kinetics and engineering.

Scientific Program

The 2-day program will include sessions with oral presentations and poster presentations.

Please note that only extended abstracts of which at least one of the authors is registered for participation will be included in the Abstracts booklet.

Venue

MACKIE-2015 will be held in the Pand historical building, situated in the heart of Ghent's centre. In February, Belgian time is GMT + 2 hours.

Weather

July is summer in Ghent, with normal average temperature of 18 degrees Celsius. Some rain cannot be excluded.
