Archisman Ghosh
Assistant Professor
Department of Physics and Astronomy
Ghent University
Research:
I lead the Ghent Gravity Group
which carries out research on gravitational waves in the Department of
Physics and Astronomy at Ghent University. My own research emphasis is
on fundamental physics and cosmology with gravitational-wave
observations. Several members in my group are working towards a precise
measurement of the Hubble constant with upcoming gravitational-wave
detections. For details, please refer to the webpage of the research
group linked above. I am a member of the Virgo Collaboration and the Einstein Telescope Collaboration. I currently serve as a co-chair of the Einstein Telescope Observational Science Board and also a coordinator of its Cosmology Division.
Teaching:
Relativity and electromagnetism (second year bachelors)
General relativity (first year masters)
Astroparticle physics and cosmology (masters elective)
Education:
Ph.D. (August 2012), Department of Physics and Astronomy, University of Kentucky, Lexington.
Supervisor: Prof. Sumit Das.
Dissertation: Time dependent systems and chaos in string theory.
M.Sc. (Integrated) in Physics (May 2006) from Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur.
