Environmental assessment toolsA first step for environmental assessments is creating a sound framework of the site under investigation. Related to the whole Belgian continental shelf, a few synthesis studies exist in which existing studies are being discussed and partly evaluated. Regarding the Marebasse research project, 2 reports have been completed. These present new results related to optimal seabed characterisation tools as well based on field investigations as on modelling.
