I am head of the Programming Languages group at the University of Ghent, Belgium.
I obtained my master degree in engineering (computer science) in 2001 at the University of Leuven (K.U.Leuven), Belgium. As a research assistant of the Flemish Fund for Scientific Research (FWO), my research at the department of computer science of the K.U.Leuven centered around `Analyses, optimizations and extensions of Constraint Handling Rules'. In 2005 I defended my Ph.D. with congratulations of the jury. From 2006 to 2010, I extended my research towards Functional Programming languages, as postdoctoral researcher of the FWO at the K.U.Leuven.
On October 1 2010, I was appointed as head of the new Programming Languages group of the Department of Applied Mathematics and Computer Science, Faculty of Sciences, University of Ghent.
