Charles Darwin
bekendste werk, On the origin of
species by means of natural selection, or the preservation of favoured
races in the struggle for life.
the origin of species.
Charles Darwin
was undoubtedly one of the greatest minds ever. In 1859, his most famous
work, “On the origin of species by means of natural selection, or the
preservation of favoured races in the struggle for life” was published. In
this book, he presents a large number of facts leading to his evolutionary
theory. At first, he could barely believe what he had discovered himself,
however, the facts were so convincing that it just had to be true. Later
research added many facts that confirmed and further completed his theory,
leading to doday’s neodarwinism. In 2009, the 200st aniversary of Darwin’s
birth and the 150st aniversary of the publication of “On the origin of
species” is celebrated.
Darwin’s face had
a number of characteristis features, including bold forehead, pronounced
eyebrows, large nose and a large white beard.
