Some manuscript versions of recently submitted papers:

  • (with Bernard De Clerck), 'Constructional semantics on the move: A diachronic view on the semantics of the English double object construction'. (Draft of January 2010)

  • (with Sarah Bernolet), 'Alternation biases in corpora vs. picture description experiments: DO-biased verbs and aan-biased verbs in the Dutch dative alternation'. (Draft of November 2009)

Other projects I'm working on (or which are simmering on the backburner) include:

  • a detailed corpus investigation of the semantic range of selected Dutch three-place constructions in earlier stages of Modern Dutch

  • an exploration of the specific (semantic) properties of passive ditransitives

  • in co-operation with Dirk Noël: an investigation of the development of ACI/NCI-constructions and complex-transitive constructions in English and Dutch, from a diachronic construction grammatical perspective

  • in co-operation with Bernard De Clerck, Dominique Willems and other members of CONTRAGRAM: a series of contrastive studies of constructions with 'provide'-type verbs in English, French, Dutch and other languages

  • an investigation of the specific properties of ditransitive particle verbs in Dutch, inspired by work by Geert Booij and Corrien Blom

  • an investigation of complex clause constructions with an indirect object in the matrix clause, inspired by work by Arie Verhagen

  • a series of popularizing articles on lexical innovations in the (Belgian) Dutch football language

  • a book on ditransitive constructions in Dutch
