I'm in my early thirties (°1976), husband to Goedele and father to Wolf (°2009), and currently live in Beveren(-Waas), in the Dutch-speaking part of Belgium, close to the more well-known (and much more interesting) cities of Ghent and Antwerp.
A mixed bag of things I like/take an interest in outside of linguistics:
football: (in a random order of preference) playing it, watching it on the telly or in the stadium, discussing it over a pint of beer.
literature: I've got a particular fondness for historical fiction (some of my favourites including Matthew Kneale's English Passengers and Neal Stephenson's Baroque cycle), though I also like the occasional campus novel
music: my very own selection of desert island discs would definitely include stuff by Warren Zevon, Midlake, Band of Horses, The Tragically Hip, and good ol' Johnny Cash
geographical and historical trivia: storing (and, at the right time, displaying) practically useless (but oh so fascinating) bits of knowledge about former capital cities, enclaves and exclaves, self-proclaimed independent states, failed coups, extravagant historical characters, extinct languages, cities without a top flight football team, et cetera, et cetera.
