Next to the services mentioned below, service measurements are possible for a number of experimental techniques. National Committee of Crystallography
Since a number of years, I am representing Ghent University in the Belgian National Committee for Crystallography. This committee brings Belgian crystallographers together, organizes a crystal growing competition for secondary schools every year and organizes a symposium every two years.
Chair of the Department of Solid State Sciences
Since October 2021, I am chairing the Department of Solid State Sciences. This relatively small department, housed in the renovated building S1 on the Campus Sterre of Ghent University, is involved in a wide range of research topics on solid state physics research. FCI (Erasmus) coördinator for Physics & Astronomy
FCI stands for Facultary Committee for Internationalization. Its aim is to support students in an international exchange program. Typically, students study a semester abroad during their Master studies. Anyone interested in such an international exchange is invited to contact me for further information.
Editor for the Journal of Luminescence
From September 1, 2016 on, I am editor for the Elsevier Journal of Luminescence. This is one of the benchmark publications for anything involving luminescent materials and spectroscopy.
