Drawing on the intrinsic qualities of the medium,
my photographic work aims to create an aesthetic of the still,
that encloses as much of the concreteness of the everyday,
as it does the enigmatic.

Through a staging or redirectioning of the real,
I deploy photography as a meditative and contemplative act,
reflecting on transparency, light, silence and the ephemeral,
thereby suggesting to the viewer new ways of looking at the world.

Photography as a poetic perception.
A conjunction with the half open book:
obscuring the apparent order of reality,
subtly reconfiguring it,
introducing a new narrative without discursively installing it.

Via de eigenschappen van mijn medium, fotografie,
wil ik komen tot een esthetiek van de stilte,
die zowel het alledaagse als de raadsels van het leven omsluit.

Fotografie zie ik als een meditatieve handeling,
een middel om transparantie, licht, stilte en het vluchtige te overdenken,
die de kijker een nieuwe manier biedt om met de wereld om te gaan.

Fotografie als poëtische waarneming,
als een half opengespreid boek:
door haar spel van verhullen en onthullen,
maakt zij subtiel een ander perspectief op de werkelijkheid aan.
