Emilie dances Benn photographs

in close colaboration with the dancer Emilie de Vlam

Ripeness/ impregnate/ pregnant/ depregnate/ the physical revolution as a dancer/ the inner journey of the photographer/ susceptibility to stones, fossils, minerals/ I feel the woman, the child, the human being/ earthing/ the body melts and disappears into matter in the surroundings/ different emotions can/ a certain frame of mind is necessary/ which emotion is evoked by rain?/ the head, the torso, the legs are worlds unto themselves/ this goes beyond pose/ as fragments decentralised/ this is not a portrait/ focal points that are not normally there/ framework/ accent/ the surroundings talk/ questions are being asked/ the body and the non-daily function/ the hand talks the foot talks/ distortion/ how complex is the mind/ the imaginary line reaches everywhere/ everything is possible!/ however: one should be strict/ one should be very alert/ this requires concentration/ madness in a healthy way/ the photographer is dancer/ is clear/ is open to/ one sees hears feels smells tastes everything concentrated/ conscious/ we work with the feedback/ unification in clarity/ the dance is complex/ face and body are out of the ordinary/ photographs tell the dance blends/ there is movement amongst movement/ there is space amongst everything/ the idea and that what is outside it/ the unnamable/ photograph while dancing/ even titles do not name what is amongst the things/ what is before and what is after/ what is blurred and sharp and blurred/ the universal character of things/ light!!!/ the cycle of life/ in truth/ in revolution/ externally fast internally slow/ dance the ultimate dance/ think and do/ together/ portray the depth and superficiality of the mind/ the concentrated dance makes the mind take over the body and vice versa/ let everything come up and follow/ very concentrated from one dance movement into the other/ it is the attitude one dances with/ one watches oneself from the outside to the inside/ the dance with the closed eye/ this is not exotic!/ learn, be quiet and imitate/invite the ant / concentrate/ steer the other/ steer your body/ as if blindfolded/ the truth cannot be danced or photographed/ Ithaka in thoughts/ pure dance does not portray anything/ it’s not simple/ it’s complex/ this is where it becomes art/ you connect with many themes/ you direct yourself/ allow what comes up/ beware: you can’t allow everything/ labels don’t fit here/ the result touches/ be open and susceptible/ the voice speaks sounds and poems/ we want to communicate/ look at photo-graphs by your own rhythm/ look (at it) repeatedly/ to translate slowly/ look at the obvious cliché with apprehension/ let go of those inhibitions/ look with new eyes/
